Ekal is a solidarity movement to empower those who need the most. Ekal is about putting ideas into practice to realize social dreams. Ekal mission is to ensure holistic development of tribal India along with remotest parts of rural India. The backbone of the movement since its inception has been the education. It's a nation building movement to empower the last person at bottom of economic & social pyramid.
Ekal Sansthan role in Ekal Abhiyan is to share the common belief of empowerment of tribal & rural India among all stake holders. Ekal Sansthan needs to provide support to Ekal Abhiyan Trust in terms of strategic communication, research & development, know-how & strategic input for effective decision making. Another key-role of Sansthan is to work as an interface in between urban & rural verticals.
Strategic Communication to promote core idea of Ekal
Ekal Sansthan has been making efforts to spread awareness about Ekal as a brand & also about the core belief of Ekal Abhiyan. To achieve this, Sansthan has conducted several seminars in different parts of the country & also held 5 National seminars in last 6 years. Recently in February 2014, Nationals seminar on Dynamics of Development in Rural & Tribal Bharat was held in New Delhi which was attended by 250 eminent people from different walks of life. The key highlight of the seminar was the session having all National coaches from Ekal Abhiyan as panelists which was highly appreciated by all the participants. The panel was represented by Shri Madhwendra Singh, Shri Lallan Kumar Sharma, Shri K.E.N. Raghvan, Sriniwas Panda, Dr. Mukul Bhatia, Dr. Surya Prakash Sharma & the session was moderated by Smt. Manju Srivastava.
The same seminar also brought forward a one of its kind book on Ekal Abhiyan carrying story of Ekal from its birth to evolve itself into a movement to spread light among lacs of people in tribal & rural India. The book titled as “Bharat that is India” is conceptualized to celebrate the completion of 25 years of Ekal Abhiyan. This book brings forward the complete picture of Ekal Abhiyan as a model for social change. The title of the book “Bharat that is India” is a reflection of belief that core values, culture, spirituality & ancient wisdom of India lies in our villages & that should be the foundation of any development and economic in India.
During the interaction with Sh. Shyam Ji Gupt for the purpose of this book, he concluded his remarks when he was asked his final comments to critics or supporters of Ekal Abhiyan, he said “If you do not understand our silence, you will never understand our words. Come join this silent revolution to build rural & tribal Bharat. It is not possible without YOU”. We at Ekal Sansthan with a purpose of taking this silent movement to more & more people has come forward with the idea of EKAL STUDY CIRCLE. This will be a open platform for sharing of ideas to bring forward an integrated approach to ensure holistic development of Tribal & Rural Bharat. The idea is to develop this as a platform for advocacy to frame better policies for Tribal & Rural Bharat.
